The 255w is like this unit... however this one being the 285 comes with an aditional part on the charging side that connects to MSN direct However ****MSN Direct service will be available only until January 1, 2012*** the 265 comes with the other type of traffic update... but the unit could be converted to the other by buying the other power cable (all the trafic stuff is in the power cable) however the unit is almost the same exact unit, minus the power cable. <br /> <br />And the unit is very good an solid. So if you buy this with a view to having access to weather, traffic, movies, plane status, etc., then this will only work for two years, after that, it will turn back into a very handy and useful GPS pumpkin, the glass slippers and the pretty dress will be gone. As for the MSN service it is a very cool feature that is going away as noted earlier. So in short buy this if you want basic gps functionality, but be wary of traffic and be aware of the MSN services demise.
