The Connemara Bus “A Journey Through The Past In Ireland”

Comments
Ann Milholland Webb’s THE CONNEMARA BUS is one of those intimate epics that hooks a reader and just doesn’t let go. It spins fascinating tales and adventures involving two people, their two cultures and countries and families, and the themes of heartbreak, loss of love and innocence, discovery and hope are not just universal, they become more personal as you read on. This is a ride well worth taking, beautifully told. Truly an intimate story of epic proportions!

This is an interesting and witty history of the author and a beautiful part of Ireland. The style of writing made me feel as if I were observing the real thing. She had a great relationship with her dad and I could feel the strong wind and smell the peat fire in Ireland. I could relate to the strong sense of community when the author described the original bus driver’s closeness to his fellow Irishmen and women and the wonderful stories, regarding him, as told by members of his family and friends. Good luck with the book and the business venture in Ireland.

An excellent read! The story tells of an American and her experience in Ireland and how a tour on a vintage bus changed her life after her husbands’ death. Her story of the 1932 bus and the Ferguson/Ryan family of drivers is truly heartwarming.
If you have ever been to Ireland you’ll love and understand the refereces to the warm and friendly people and understand why one trip to the “Emerald Isle” is never enough.

This is a charming book about a widow’s quest for focus and meaning in her life. On a trip to visit her brother in the land of her fathers, She is captured buy the sheer beauty of Ireland and the kindness of the people who sense her pain and gently help her to refocus her life. The old bus winds its way through the story and the history of the western Irish countryside allowing the reader to meet a truly remarkable Irish family. This work is what I call a “good read” ( my higest ranking ) and will leave the reader with a sense of intimately knowing these people and their country.
