  1. S. Sellers Said,

I installed the Aube TI035 a couple of weeks ago. I have had two Intermatic’s in the past and was so frustrated with them that I junked them and have been using a wall switch for the past several years. I came across the Aube on Amazon and decided to give the Aube a try after reading the reviews. Installation was a snap. It went right int where the old wall switch was. Note that it is deeper then a wall switch and needs a standard full sized jbox. Setup was straight forward using the longitude and latitude configuration. Read all the instructions FIRST. The whole operation took around a half hour and it has been running like a charm.

    Other features include:

o The ability to program it turn on and off at different times as well.

    o A daylight savings setting.

    o Solar battery recharging.

o Programmable for different on/off times.

o Also a manual mode to turn the lights on on the gray days of winter.

One thing I would note is that if you are going to purchase this unit is to make sure to get the right one. The one that I have requires to have both hot AND neutral connections available.

Also make sure the switch can get light to recharge.

  2. Seno J Said,

I have installed this switch for about 4 weeks now. I used it to control a compact florescent light in the front porch. It has worked flawlessly.

By following the instruction sheet, the installation and programing were done easily enough.

Pro: Solar feature that automatically adjust sun set and sun up time is great.

Con: Pricey. No back light. The back light would be a big help during the programming. I wished there was a back light that can be turned on/off.

  3. NF Said,

This unit was much easier to program than the Intermatic timer switch. Unlike the Intermatic, you can simply enter your latitude and longitude which are provided in the instructions. The instructions were MUCH easier than the Intermatic timer. The buttons are easier to press and nicely spaced. It works well w. CFL bulbs w. no flicker when turned off. Corrects for daylight savings time. However, this unit has no battery back-up so if you lose power, you will probably have to reprogram. Can be programmed to turn on at dusk and off at dawn everyday. It can also be programmed to turn on at different times on a day to day basis. It corrects for daylight savings time as well. Wiring was a breeze. Excellent product. Would have given it 5 stars if it had a battery back-up.

  4. Keith A. Masterson Said,

First off. It’s a good timer. I like the idea of programming it once and letting the internal software figuring out what time sunset/sunrise are and turning the lights on accordingly. In that respect, this timer does what it says it will do. You can program it to turn ‘on’ at sunset and ‘off’ at sunrise OR you can program it to come ‘on’ at sunset and then ‘off’ at a time of your choosing and then ‘on’ again at a time of your choosing and ‘off’ at sunrise.

I bought a TI-035 in Aug 2007. Worked fine until Dec 2009. The digital display became weak and unreadable. There is a note in the instructions about the display becoming weak if it’s subjected to cold temps, but it’s supposed to be normal once the temp warms up. My display stayed permanently dead. Switch still functioned in the on/off mode though. Fortunatley Aube has a 3 yr. product warranty. I called them and after the obligatory go-around with technical support (to no avail) they agreed to send me a replacement timer after I faxed them a dated sales receipt. I save all my receipts, so I was fortunate.

Expensive timer. Good function. Save your receipt for 3 years.

  5. nick Said,

This is my second TI035 Timer, and it works as it should. Easy to install, and setup. I picked this model, because I wanted to use CF bulbs, in an outside post light. The timer is in my attached garage, and in the Detroit area, it gets well below the manufacture’s temp range. I installed it in the shared wall, between the house and garage. So far, so good.
