   I bought this bulb because I needed a very bright, warm light for our living room. The description of this bulb – “simulating natural light”, and “uplifting and bright light”, made me think this was the one. While it IS bright, it looks like it belongs in a dismal hospital room. The light is very WHITE and very BLEAK. Nothing like a full-spectrum bulb, or even like a ‘soft white’ bulb.

   I am trying desperately to find a decent CFL that has good light quality AND lasts more than a couple months…but I’m growing tired. Hoping that the next-gen LED bulbs can get over these challenges, because this environmentalist is going broke and becoming impatient with CFL’s.

   I picked up a pack of 10 feit electric fluorescent bulbs at Costco. All 10 burned out in less than a year. This was in a bathroom vanity that sees little usage. Incandescents last much longer. Just beware before you spend all the money on these Flourescent bulbs. Others last longer, but I think I’ll try the LED lights that are coming out now. Should be much better value even if they are 2-3X as expensive, unless rigged to die after a certain amount of time.
   
   Taking all 10 back as costco already said they will replace.

   This bulb is good for workshop or kitchen areas if you want more wattage than usual for an energy efficient bulb. However, it is not appropriate for a living room or bedroom because the light is not warm, but similar to the light from a flourescent bulb.

   This light is very bright and lights the whole area up better than regular bulbs.

   I had this bulb for about a month and a half now. It works great for me but I haven’t had it long enough to say it lasts long.

   Things you have to realize when buying this bulb:
   
   Its a fairly high wattage bulb for a CFL so its best in a floor standing lamp. I wouldn’t put this in a light fixture.

   When it comes to all CFL, if it says Daylight, its will have more of a white light rather than yellow. I wanted this and it has a bright light more comparable to a flourescent light.
