Very unhappy with this product. The clear plastic through which you are supposed to read is scratched. (It looks as if it was used and damaged.)

If in the bustle of the holidays the package had not been thrown away, I would return the product.

Purchased for my Mom for christmas. She was very excited. Unfortunately the opening for the batteries does not fit the recommended batteries. Called the manufacturer and they said "yes" that was a problem with some units. Item was returned - can not use!

A lot about this book light is great. For instance, it has a nice, relatively soft light and the batteries last reasonably well. I don't have trouble using it, flipping between pages is easier for me that holding trying to keep a light position on the spine, especially when reading a paperback. The scratches don't impair the light.

I have owned at least 4:

What I am sick off and why I have decided to move on to look for the real perfect light:

1) Lightwedge no longer offers the adjustable light. It's all one level of brightness.
2) I don't care what they say, the bulbs wear out and you can't change them.
3) The "door" for the battery is flimsy and I've had to hold one door together with tape. Not great when I have to replace the battery.

I have previously praised this light, and I have enjoyed them for years. I had to give it a one to bring the overall average down. Plus, I've had it. The negatives, outweigh the positives for me right now.
*****************
Update Feb 19: Love-Hate

I tried to go back in and update this. I wanted to change my rating to a higher star based on my interaction with the company. After I wrote this review, I continued to stew, and I contacted them with my complaints and they replaced my lights. They stand behind their product, I have to give them that. It is the best design, as far as I am concerned. I have just been disappointed in the life of the light, not per battery installation, but overall. After a while, the light just isn't as bright when batteries are replaced. I tried a couple of other lights but none cut it, including the new Periscope and the over-the-ear light.

I rue the day when we won't need book lights because Amazon's Kindle will have ruined the world, but until then, the LightWedge may be the best design. If they can't make the bulbs last, then redesign so we can replace the battery. May we always have books and need book lights. This one is good; nothing is perfect. LightWedge's customer service comes pretty close. If you buy a light, be sure to register it with the company for the guarantee.

The wedge is fine, but useless in the daytime. Would have been a big help if the information was given that it is for nighttime reading and doesn't help if used in the daytime.

It doesn't work for me.

The continual search for the right Book light has once again ended in failure. It is so sad.

It's exactly like the surfboard I abandoned on Maui.

It spent too much time hitting me in the head to live.
