  1. James P. Konzak Said,

I recommend this model be avoided. Here’s why.

I’ve had two of these die in under six months, with the same problem. It suddenly stops responding and the receiver gets so hot you can’t touch it. Trying a new battery, different PC or laptop, different USB port – still dead. I bought the first one at a local office supply store, S*****s, but they would do nothing when it failed. I contacted Microsoft and they sent a free replacement. Now that’s died with the same symptoms, making me conclude this has either major design defects (short circuit?) or quality control issues. I’m now using the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000, also Bluetrack, and it’s working well (for a few weeks).

Aside from the severe defect, I did like the mouse very much.

Works great but is huge (for a mini). This is certainly the largest mini mouse I’ve seen. It does work on carpet, a wood desk, piece of paper, etc so their tracking technology is very good. Love the thumb buttons. Much larger than the HP mini that it is replacing.

So good mouse but certainly not small. To me it looks like a full sized mouse.

  3. Scott Said,

It seems to be hit or mis with many of Microsoft’s mice. I also own the full size Blue Track and while it tracks well, its a little uncomfortable (I reviewed it). I decided to go for it with the mini version for my laptop because my other Microsoft blue-tooth 5000 mini mouse doesn’t work well on various surfaces. It also is way to small so I wanted to upgrade to the latest and greatest.

This one actually does very well. It also is quite comfortable. If it was slightly bigger it would have been near perfect. My biggest complaint is that I’m tired of those USB receiver dongles. They stick out and get in the way. I know other companies make super small ones and why can’t Microsoft. I gave it 4 stars because of that and also I would have liked to have it also be blue-tooth so I wouldn’t need the dongle!

If you don’t care about the USB dongle, then pick this one up as its pretty good!

  4. X. Lu Said,

if you want to a blue track mu=ouse, you shouldn’t miss it.

The normal one is too big for everyone, therefore, I suggest you to buy the mini one.

It almost can work in any environment.

  5. Dr. Sol M. Wald Said,

The Mini Mouse is a “slam dunk” to install, works fabulously, has great features that take advantage of new capabilities provided by Vista Premium, and a wonderful, adjustable, magnification “window” that provides another very convenient feature. It’s powered by a single AA battery, and I was concerned about what the battery life would be. I’ve been using it for a while now, and have yet to replace the battery. I’m most pleased with the great convience provided by this excellent, small, wireless mouse.
