I had come to this book from a Marketing perspective and was blown away. The overall message is how to lead, communicate and inspire, which translates directly to writing effectively. This book reminded me a lot of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, it has many principles, that are simple and effective, but not obvious. Even though starting with the “Why” is the most effective, nearly all advertising (or public speaking, or management…) starts with “What” and maybe covers “How”.
This book is a quick read and you can get a feel for the concepts if you look up Simon on YouTube (or check out my interview with him on Marketing Over Coffee).
If you were to read only one book this year to improve yourself, it should be this one.
