The reason for my disappointment……… a tape on the glass could not be removed………the rainbow certainly did not reflect as reflected into the room.

It just doesn’t…work. It’s weird. Before this I always had actual prisms, and this doesn’t produce anywhere near the kind of vibrant rainbows and light play that those do. In super strong, direct light it only makes a fuzzy, weak rainbow that only shows on surfaces that are really close to it.

I am still puzzled how they got the photo on the product packaging that shows bright colored beams of light covering the room. That’s NOT what you see. The effect is nothing that spectacular. The refraction patterns are barely visible. Piece of junk.

The effect of this device really depends on a lot of circumstances. If the wall that is opposite the prism is 4 ft or less, then the prism rainbows will be bright… but if it is longer, then the rainbow becomes dim and harder to see. Also a window (such as a large window) that lets in too much light will also dull the effect. So if you have a small window and the opposing surface is 4 feet or less from the window, then this could be a good prism… otherwise the effect is not going to be spectacular. Though I don’t know of any prism that is. An ordinary equalateral prism can produce a strong, but short/small rainbow. Maybe some more research is needed.
Anyway, I bought this for feng shui purposes more than anything else, and seems to do a lot better than a windchime at blocking negative chi from a funeral home outside of my dwelling. Maybe not as good as a bagua symbol… but still.

I’m ordering my second Rainbow Window. I’ve had my first for a few years and properly positioned, it creates a beautiful kaleidoscopic light throughout our first floor on sunny afternoons. I appreciate the fact that it can be hung either with its suction cup or a by a thread or nylon cord. I agree with everything the reviewer Christy said in her review of this item. My Rainbow Window has fallen off the window a few times and survived. That’s definitely a plus. I think the reason some of the reviewers here have had problems with it has to do with the fact that it really has to be perfectly positioned to catch the rays.
