The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness

This book is good for making one person a millionaire: Dave Ramsey! I found nothing but a slew of personal statements……

Bankruptcy is the Root of All Evil — because if you go bankrupt, why on earth would you need Ramsey’s seminars and books?

Ramsey is making a mint — preying upon the desperate multitudes in serious consumer debt. He is no better than those he condemns.

Working two jobs, 7 days a week? My God, with that kind of lifestyle you risk a lot of health problems as well as shattered relationships with your spouse and children.

Save your money for a good bankruptcy attorney — trust me, it’s not gut wrenching end of the world that Ramsey would have you believe.

MANY MILLIONAIRES GO BANKRUPT AT LEAST ONE TIME BEFORE MAKING A FORTUNE.

Ramsey suggests not spending money on worthless things — well, I sure wasted money buying this worthless collection of inane drivel.

The entire book can be summerized (Save money, Invest money and give it away), pay off all your debts, pay for everything using cash and by the time you are 75 years old you should have a good amount of money saved up so that you can give it all away.

Watch out for bible quotes in every other page and animal stories.

I picked up this book since I was sick of Suze Ormond telling everyone what a moron they are with money. I had not heard of Dave Ramsey. Boy, I wish I had stuck with Suze, at least she leaves God out of it.

The book is complete fluff. It does not contain any real advice. For example, he will say, “Don’t lease a car.” Then never really give you any pointers on how to get out of an existing lease. However, if you are motivated by stories of unicorns and paved gold streets in heaven with no real roadmap to get there, read on.

The first step in my Total Money Makeover will be to sell this book.

At least his website does not accept credit cards and he follows what he preaches.

I do not think this review will be helpful at this time because I haven’t had the time to read Dave Ramsey’s book. Probably over the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays I’ll take the time to read it. Its contents will probably become my New Years Resolutions for 2007.

I do have some good news. The friend that recommended this book to me gives it rave reviews.

Nothing new here. Weak and as they say in the world of marketing, “all sizzle … no steak.” You can take the first step to your own money makeover when you don’t buy this book and save your money instead.
