   We are still in the process of learning about our TomTom XL. We have tried it several times, and so far we feel it’s very confusing to use. Also, there are no real directions on how to use it in the manual, only on how to set it up. I would not recommend this product.TomTom XL 330 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator

   Great GPS for the price. Through Amazon the price and three year warranty couldn’t be beat. The unit does tell you WHEN to turn, just not what the street names are on this model but it shows them on the screen. Have used it about four times so far and it has taken me right where I needed to go. I did pay extra for the online most recent updates. Will end up getting a different case as this one is sturdy but the unit itself is all that fits into it rather snuggly.

   I got this brand of GPS on recommendation from a user of a previous model. While this GPS appears to be up to the task, I do not like their method of updates.

   The unit was just purchased new, and it needs to be updated. This update is so large that on my dial up, the time to download will be about 2 weeks of 24/7 use of my phone line, that is if it doesn’t stop quite often at random. My only choice of high speed internet in my location is satellite, which requires a two year commitment.

   I called the company to see if the update could be mailed on DVD, and they advised me that my only choice for this update is by download. In other words, if I do not have all the latest bells and whistles, I am left in the dust.

   It appears to me that this company is and will be unresponsive to it’s customers with ordinary needs, and for that reason, I do not recommend this brand.

   The carrying case appears to be very well made.

   The gps case is nice and fits well, only thing I found wrong was the strap, if you hook it where it shows then every time you grab the strap the case opens, that or I’m not putting it on right.
