I can’t actually say how it might function. I know for a fact, that I would never put a child in it. I, along with many others, still haven’t been able to set it up. The sides have a secret locking system that is impossible to get to work. I even got angry and cut one open to see what makes it work. We still can’t get it to lock in place. I purchased this for my papillon puppies to play in, and they’re still in cardboard boxes. I’m sure they’ll have new homes before we ever get this horrible thing to work.

Do not buy this playpen. Very poor quality, difficult to set up and pack down. Wife and I used this pen (the pink one) for about 3 weeks, then we could not get it to set up any more, one side support wouldn’t click into place. Very dissatisfied, wish I could get my money back, avoid this at all cost.

I like the large size of this but I found it difficult to set up. It took 4 adults to figure it out and 2 of us working together to get the sides to lock.
It was also difficult to get it back into the storage bag.

The bottom of the inside of the playpen, that the baby sits, plays, and sleeps on is in connected sections, (to fold up for travel) heavy to lift, and slightly padded. I bought an extra pad to make it softer, (couldn’t find the right size, as this company does not offer it here) and to conceal the wedges between the sections. The screen is soft, navy blue, and very attractive and larger than most play yards. It isn’t light weight as advertised, and is difficult to place in its carrying case; you need two people to maneuver it into its case, making it awkward, thus only four stars. However, it is safe, attractive, well made, and the greatest value we’ve found on the internet.

I bought the navy one easy to put up and take down but did’t want to keep moving it from bedroom to livingroom so I bought a green one this one will travel with me I take care of my nephew and need one when I go to my sons and daughter in law house to let him see how fun babys can be
