So this angel is sheltering and protecting a small candle with a little gold-leafed flame. It?s important that the flame is small ? sometimes it?s just a little flicker or a fleeting sign that can give you hope. Sometimes for me, focusing on seemingly insignificant things ? events or happenings that I might ordinarily take for granted ? it?s those things, those little miracles, which can give hope. Barb: I first discovered the Susan Lordi Willow Tree figurines while visiting a friend in the hospital. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and I wanted to bring her a small gift…mainly an angel to watch over her. The gift shop had a nice selection of angels, but the ones that I fell in love with, were the Willow Tree Angels…they looked so serene and calm. The artist Susan Lordi, has a beautiful way of conveying the perfect message for each individual figurine. She has made a lovely collection to choose from, and each one is the right one for the occasion. They are made of a resin that is carved/treated to look like wood. They are sweet and delicate-looking, but sturdy. The metal wings are a simple design, but are the perfect compliment to the rest of the figure’s body. I just purchased a third angel from Amazon, for another friend in the hospital, going to Hospice next. There is something about Angels that has everyone feeling positive and relaxed, when around them!
